Renaissance Family Dentistry

I have moved a lot and had different dental plans, so I have been through some dentists. I love this office. I don't know what is up with Don't Go There. My dentist was prompt, nice, thorough and did NOT try to sell me anything I didn't need. In fact, I asked him about whitening my teeth, and he said that with my teeth I probably wouldn't get a good result with anything out there. I am sending the rest of my family over!

I have been going to Renaissance Family Dentistry for almost 3 years now. I came to this site to show my friend how great the place is and was surprised to see one individual's low review; this prompted me to write my own. The office is state-of-the-art and very comfortable while the staff is very personable and pleasant. The dentist is very practical; he offers little small talk but is very careful with your teeth and assessment. Another point worth mentioning - my x-rays indicate one of my upper teeth is worth watching and will have to be filled; however, the dentist's approach is not overly aggressive (we have waited a number of month's before actioning). Note: The dentist does not extract most wisdom teeth. When I needed mine out, he gave me a referral.

The facility at Renaissance Family Dentistry is very nice. They have personal television sets for each patient and the atmosphere is pleasant. The quality seemed pretty average--I was satisfied but not thrilled with my teeth-cleaning.

However, I was very disappointed with the service. The receptionist was nice but the dentist was very unfriendly. My visit ended up lasting three hours because I was waiting for him.

Then he told me that I had four cavities and that I might want to get my wisdom teeth extracted. My previous dentist who is a professor at the UNC dental school and my former orthodontist, also a professor at UNC, both said that I would never need to have my wisdom teeth extracted! Also, I've never heard of anyone needing four fillings! He told me that they hadn't been detected before because UNC's x-rays aren't as high-tech as hisyeah right!

Don't go there.
